Erik Steinbrecher, born in 1963 in Basel, lives and works in Berlin. He has had solo exhibitions at Kunst Werke Berlin, PS1 MoMA, Kunsthalle Wien, Haus Konstruktiv Zürich, Centre de la Photographie Genf, Kunstbibliothek Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Graphische Sammlung ETH Zürich, Kunsthaus Baselland among others. He has also participated in important group shows such as documenta X Kassel, Biennale Lubiljana, Mimétisme Extra City Antwerpen, ReMap2 Biennale Athen, Lust und Laster Kleezentrum Bern, Animismus Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, Shanghai Biennale among others.
